Lead Manipulation & AI Engineer (m/w/d)
About Us
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly technical Lead Manipulation & AI Architect to engineer intelligence into our advanced dual arm hardware. In this foundational leadership role, you will take full ownership of the robot physical interaction capabilities, building the infrastructure that fuses classical control with advanced Reinforcement Learning. You will leverage our high precision actuators and sensing to master complex tasks, pushing the limits of sophisticated mechatronics. You will define the motion intelligence and lead the manipulation strategy for our next generation machines.
Skills
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrated experience in robotics manipulation or AI, successfully bridging theory and real world application (advanced academic research or a PhD / PostDoc provides a strong foundation).
- Manipulation Expertise: Proven ability to implement and deploy Sim2Real, Reinforcement Learning (RL), and classical control strategies.
- Core Technologies: Expert level C++ and Python programming skills within a ROS 2 environment.
- Control Theory: Deep background in advanced control theory (e.g., impedance control, torque control, MPC) and rigid body dynamics.
- Applied Algorithms: Practical experience implementing algorithms for grasp planning, force control, or in hand manipulation.
- Language: Solid communication skills in English.
Benefits & Culture
Build from Scratch: As the architect of our manipulation stack, you will bridge the gap between sophisticated mechatronics and advanced AI, designing the core algorithms that allow our robots to perform complex tasks with human like dexterity.
- True Ownership & Impact: See your work come to life from day one. As a foundational hire, your work will directly shape our technology and our company.
- Elite, Hands on Team: Work in a fast paced, high performance environment alongside top robotics talent rooted in ETH Zurich research.
- No Red Tape: We are an ambitious, focused team driven by growth and excellence, not bureaucracy.
- Join our team: Based in Zurich (CH) or Esslingen am Neckar (DE). We value in person collaboration, most work is on site, with some hybrid flexibility. Full remote work is not possible.
