Electronics Engineer (m/w/d)
About Us
Born from the labs of ETH Zurich in 2024, Duatic is for the restless and the brilliant who are ready to engineer the workforce of tomorrow. We are pioneering human-scale, dual-arm robotics by merging groundbreaking hardware with intelligent software - creating systems that don't just automate, but truly collaborate to solve global labor shortages. As a young, high-velocity startup, we trade bureaucracy for pure ownership. We are looking for ambitious engineers and PhDs eager to bridge the gap between leading-edge science and real-world impact. If you are ready to leave the safe path and build technology that defines a generation, join us at the ground floor.
Role Overview
We are seeking an Electronics Engineer to design, build, and own the electronic systems inside our robots, covering everything from schematic to layout to bring up. This is a hands on role with a real challenge: every board has to fit into a tightly constrained mechanical envelope while delivering the power and reliability needed for 24/7 industrial operation. Working closely with our mechanical and firmware engineers, you will see your boards move robots within weeks of designing them.
Skills
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrated experience designing, building, and deploying complex electronic systems in real products. A degree in Electrical Engineering is advantageous but not strictly required.
- ECAD Proficiency: Strong proficiency with ECAD tools is required; experience with KiCad is preferred.
- PCB Design & Layout Expertise: Practical experience with multi-layer PCB design, high-speed or mixed-signal layout, and EMI/EMC considerations.
- Power Electronics & Power Systems: Experience with DC-DC converters, power distribution, battery systems, and high-current design considerations.
- Hardware Debugging & Testing: Strong hands-on skills in debugging electronics using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, and similar tools.
- Embedded Development: Solid experience in embedded software development using C/C++ (e.g., STM32, Arduino, PlatformIO).
- Mechanical CAD: Experience with mechanical CAD tools is a plus.
- Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with CE certification processes for electrical/electronic systems is welcome.
- Mindset: Independent work style with strong initiative and a creative, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Language: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. German is advantageous, particularly for communication with local manufacturers.
Benefits & Culture
- Build from Scratch: As the owner of our electronics stack, your boards will define the electrical backbone of our robots, setting the standards for power, integration, and reliability that everything else depends on.
- True Ownership & Impact: See your work come to life from day one. As a foundational hire, your work will directly shape our technology and our company.
- Elite, Hands on Team: Work in a fast paced, high performance environment alongside top robotics talent rooted in ETH Zurich research.
- No Red Tape: We are an ambitious, focused team driven by growth and excellence, not bureaucracy.
- Join our team: Based in Zurich (CH) or Esslingen am Neckar (DE). We value in person collaboration, most work is on site, with some hybrid flexibility. Full remote work is not possible.
